Henry is a private practice urologist with a strong interest in the business of medicine. He has published over 75 articles in the Urology Times on how medicine and the business of medicine interact. His goal is to ensure that all physicians understand the basics of the billing and coding system so that they can fairly and ethically maximize their E&M billing. He has presented this course at numerous conferences across America and is proud to offer it here. He is a father of four who spends his free time exploring the mountains of Colorado with his family.
Medical Billing and Coding is not simple. The system is not straightforward and it is not the system that I would have created were I given the chance; but it is the system we have. The purpose of this course is two fold. First I will explain how the billing and coding system works with the goal that on completion everyone can legally and ethically maximize their E&M billing. Second, we will review modifiers and how they can be used to ensure proper billing.
Every year CMS published proposed and then final changes to the billing and coding system and every year I publish updates to the lecture to include these changes. Some of the proposals are truly radical and if fully implemented would change not only how you bill and code, but also how you practice medicine.
The course also includes a series of lectures by James Dahle, otherwise known as The White Coat Investor, talking about how best to document and code as an emergency room physician.
Lastly, I have also included a version of a lecture I gave on how private equity is starting to enter into the world of medicine as while not directly related to billing and coding, it will affect how we practice medicine.
